Counselor's Role

At Sam Houston Elementary school, the counselors work in collaboration with parents, teachers, administrators and community members to support every student's academic, career, and personal development. 

Leadership and Advocacy

Mrs. De La Rosa and Mrs. Cantu are an essential part of Sam Houston's leadership committees that meet and plan together in order to provide school safety and engagement. An example of their work is a school-wide home project that has parents and students working together to highlight each student's uniqueness and individuality. This encourages students to use their creativity and feel proud of themselves and what makes them special.
