Intrapersonal Effectiveness: Data used for intervention and action plan
Dr. R.E. Margo counselors present students and staff annually with important tools to start the school year on a positive note and monitor students' health needs throughout the school year. After the research based, campus wide Panorama survey was administered in the fall. Margo counselors discovered that students were having difficulty with self-management. This encompasses how well students manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in different situations. Margo Counseling Department, alongside with the help of WISD Licensed Professional Counselor assigned to Margo, counselors were able to intervene and assist students emotionally and academically.
In the Spring 2025 Panorama survey, results showed an increase in Self-Management by 29%. Margo counselors continue supporting students, parents, and teachers throughout the school year by providing a variety of resources, strategies, and opportunities.

Evaluating Learning Outcome
Evaluating Learning Outcome
Dr. R. E. Margo counselors utilize the Panorama Survey to support the implementation of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and guide data-driven decisions. The Panorama Survey provides valuable insight into student, teacher, and staff perceptions of how supported they feel at school—both socially and emotionally—as well as their own SEL skill development. This feedback helps counselors design targeted strategies that foster a positive and supportive learning environment for all.
Collaboration with Stakeholders
At Dr. R. E. Margo Elementary, the success of our counseling program relies on the support and collaboration of all stakeholders. Campus and community members are actively engaged in program planning, informed about its importance, and play a key role in the implementation and evaluation of the Panorama Survey. By reviewing campus-wide needs assessments, BOY/EOY surveys, the Campus Improvement Plan (CIP), and teacher, staff, and parent feedback, we are able to deliver a comprehensive guidance curriculum across all four domains—one that inspires and empowers students to lead, grow, and serve.
The delivery of our guidance curriculum is a collaborative effort. Margo counselors provide routine lessons while also partnering with feeder school counselors and outside agencies to address academic growth, social and emotional needs, and state-mandated topics. Resources are shared with staff and families through the monthly Counselor Corner newsletter, ensuring ongoing communication and support.
In addition, Margo counselors work closely with district leadership to align with district goals and strengthen connections with the community.
