Endorsements

In Texas high schools, students choose an endorsement in 9th grade, which is like a specialized track or focus area for their studies. Think of it as picking a major in college but for high school.

There are five main endorsements:

1. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math): Focuses on subjects like math, science, and technology.

2. Business and Industry: Includes courses related to business, marketing, and technical skills.

3. Public Services: Covers careers in health care, education, and law enforcement.

4. Arts and Humanities: Involves arts, music, history, and languages.

5. Multidisciplinary Studies: A general track that gives a broad education in various subjects.

Students pick an endorsement based on their interests and career goals, and it helps guide the classes they take during high school.
