15 minute drive to the Memorial Union
<30 minute Madison Metro bus ride from the airport to the UW campus. (Take D2 bus from the MSN airport, Terminal Door 6 and get off at University at East Campus. Every 30 min, $2/ride).
2.5 hour drive
3-hour comfortable/reliable bus ride directly to UW-campus by Van Galder Bus. Take the airport tram to the Multi-Modal Facility (MMF) for the O'Hare airport bus stop. Ride to the final destination, 250 N. Lake St. Madison, which is 9 min walk to the Memorial Union. (Leaving every 1 or 1.5 hr. $38/one way, $69/round trip, Best to purchase the ticket and get QR code from here before boarding.)
