We are aiming to be a green-gold enviroschool

To do this we have commenced on a journey to identify where we need to improve and go deeper into the understanding of why we do things, as well as creating a more thorough schoolwide approach to environmental education/sustainability learning contexts.

The students are driving this with the help of a number of teachers and our Enviroschool facilitator Eden Hakaraia.

The last few weeks at WIS we have been weeding the tree planting by the Waiarohia Stream, and mapping out all the different food, fruit trees and native trees we have at in our school.

We are hoping to make some very nice looking artistic planting maps!
