National Honor Society
Purpose
According to The National Honor Society, NHS "elevates a school's commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character." Our chapter works to show this by demonstrating academic prowess, completing service projects for the community, being leaders in the school and community, and demonstrating good character.
What we've done
Despite 2020 being a crazy year, we have still managed to work on many community service projects. So far, we accomplished this: (more details in the Chapter Projects page)
Cleared brush around the school road and cleaned up the garden in front of the school.
Surprised local businesses with decorated pumpkins as a thank you for their support
Delivered gifts to our Principal and Dean of Students for each day in Principal Appreciation Month
Wrote Christmas cards and delivered them to a local nursing home
Built Snowmen for nursing home residents
Tied blankets for hospice patients
Cleaned up the Monmouth Theater
In addition to these group projects, each senior member has an individual project, shown on the Member Projects page.
