A minimum of 1 First Aider must accompany the touring party. 2 or more First Aiders are preferred to provide emergency cover.

Each appointed First Aider must hold the role of First Aider with the club on GMS and have access to the ProActive app for reporting injuries and events
Each first aider will need a valid DBS, Current eLearning: Headcase Concussion Awareness Training and eLearning: Introduction to Safeguarding. These expire on an annual basis so please ensure they are up to date for the date of the tour. These can be booked and taken on line via GMS. The qualifications will take a few days to appear on GMS, so please don't leave it until the last minute.
You will need to provide DBS number, RFU ID, Qualification Expiry Dates. The club Rugby Safe Lead and Safeguarding Officer can help retrieve this information if you are unable.
A template will be provided for capturing this information along with a Medical Emergency Process document as part of the Tour Pack that is accessible by completing the Outgoing Tour Pack form
You will need to provide the number of players that are attending the tour.
For all unaccompanied players you will need to ensure that a parent / guardian has full completed the medical questionnaire.
If another attending adult is taking responsibility for the individual on tour they must complete the Locus Parentis form along with the players parent / guardian.

All injuries no matter how trivial must be reported via the ProActive App. Each First Aider should have access to this app. in the event that you do not have access please contact the Rugby Safe Lead who will grant access
Insurance is an important part of any tour. If you are travelling out side of the UK and therefore not covered by the NHS it is essential that insurance is taken out for players. The RFU have a preferred insurer that specialises in rugby tours. This is Howdens Insurance, please ensure that the players are adequately covered. Proof of this insurance being in place will be required for the tour to be approved.
Other persons on the tour parents etc, should be advised that they will not be covered by this insurance (unless they have been included in the group policy) and they should provide their own travel insurance.
All members of the touring party should be advised to have a valid GHIC card
