My Journey

I am a motivated and driven individual who has a strong passion for journalism and learning new things. I thrive in challenging environments that require me to be adaptable, problem-solve, think critically, and collaborate with others. 

Before coming to Wingate University, I went to Central Piedmont Community College, where I earned my associate’s degree. My time at CPCC was a transformative period in my life. It was where I discovered my passion for writing, and it allowed me to grow academically. The small-sized classes allowed me to build relationships with my professors, who taught me how to address problems with creativity, perseverance, and determination.

When I transferred to Wingate, I was able to build even more relationships with professors, as Wingate also has small-sized classes. These relationships have inspired me to always strive for excellence. The connections built have influenced the way I want to make a difference in the world and my dedication to learn continuously. In every class I took, I gained strong research, writing, and communication skills, and I learned how to accurately tackle problems from different perspectives, all of which will allow me to thrive in any professional environment. 

My education experience at Wingate has not only strengthened me academically; it has taught me the value of hard work, time management, and resilience. Balancing school, my part-time job at a restaurant, and extracurricular activities reinforced the need for me to stay focused in high-stress situations, prioritize responsibilities, and cooperate effectively with others. 

These experiences have prepared me for life outside of academia and have transformed me into someone who can skillfully overcome obstacles. Wingate has provided me with the ability, confidence, and drive to make a meaningful impact on those around me and to adjust to this constantly changing world.
