The Process of Making our Final Prototype

This is a timeline of when we did everything we had to do.

Our Solution

What it is and why it's important

Our proposed solution is an easy-to-use washing machine for the homeless to use so they don’t have to wait in long lines in laundry mats or shelters. This is important because this product constructs a method so the homeless can have easier and cleaner laundry-related hygiene.

The difference

We already have normal washers and dryers, who are run by big companies that charge a lot of money to buy them. The difference is, this product is completely, 100% free for the public to use.

Collecting Data

Ways of collecting data so we know that this product is efficient, is making a 3D design and using mini, dirty clothes. We will then wash one and not wash the other to see if there is a significant difference. We will take a photo through the microscope and then pitch this to our clients' homeless community. We will also do a satisfaction survey for the people who would use this product.

Budget

The potential costs will be around $30, including detergent, and mini clothing.

Over 100,000 homeless people in the Los Angeles area who don't have access to fresh clothing. Our Solution is a portable mashing machiene that does not require electricity, and is easy to use.

Our data

Our prototype ended up being successful. Our data shows that the pieces of fabric are overall much cleaner than if they were not put into out product, the SpinCycle. The pieces of fabric were a whole 84% cleaner when put into the SpinCycle
