BYOD

We are proud and excited to announce that Winchester Public Schools has completed the first stages of our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiative which began in the fall of 2015 on two of our 6th grade teams, expanded in the winter of 2016 to all 6th grade teams, and in the fall of 2016 to all students throughout McCall. Two years ago in the spring 2017, some 5th grade classrooms began a BYOD pilot which continued last year with 5th graders as well.

Based on the successful evaluation of these initial pilots, and in order to support our 5th grade students in their transition to McCall, we are continuing a pilot for our 5th grade classrooms. This will begin September 5, 2018 for our current 5th graders.

As you know, we have been working very hard for the past couple of years on our district technology plan as well as our joint initiative, PowerED UP, with WFEE. With the improvements we have made in our infrastructure, professional development, and technology in the classrooms, we are finding great success using BYOD in our safe and secure environment.

Our hope is that any related information you need can be found on this website; however, if we are missing something, please let us know.
