What a fantastic week we've had, revisiting the heart of what makes Wincham Community Primary School such a special place. This week in our assemblies and classes, we've been reconnecting with our school's mission statement: "Together, we learn, grow, and dream."
We've explored what this means for each and every one of us. To truly learn, grow, and dream together, we need to do our best, respect and support one another, and care for our school environment. When we all do this, we ensure that every child at Wincham has the best possible chance to succeed.
Our children have been talking about our three key school rules at an age-appropriate level:
Respect Ourselves: Being proud of who we are, staying safe, and aspiring to be the best we can be.
Respect Others and Their Learning: Showing kindness, using our manners, and listening carefully to others.
Respect Our Property and Our Environment: Taking care of our classrooms, our equipment, and the wider school grounds.
It has been wonderful to see the children thinking deeply about what these values look like in their everyday lives. We've had brilliant discussions about how these simple rules help us create a safe, happy, and supportive community where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

What a fantastic start to the new school year we have had! It has been an absolute delight to see all our pupils back in school, looking so smart and ready for a new term of learning and fun.
A very warm welcome back to all of our returning families and a special hello to all our new families who have joined the Wincham Community. It has been lovely to see our children reconnecting with their friends and settling so well into their new classes with their new teachers.
We are so proud of how all the children have approached the new term with such enthusiasm and a genuine love for learning. Their positive attitudes are truly what makes our school such a special place to be. We have already seen brilliant examples of children learning, growing, and dreaming together, and we can’t wait to see all that they will achieve this year.
Thank you for your continued support in making this such a happy and successful start to the school year.
On Monday Wincham staff joined schools from Chester, Ellesmere Port, the Wirral and Liverpool at the new home of Everton FC, the Hill Dickinson stadium in Liverpool for the first joint INSET day for The People's Learning Trust. We heard from nationally renowned education experts Mark Finnis and Hywel Roberts, who both spoke about different aspects of a relational approach in schools, how it can be used to proactively support behaviour management and regulation through building a culture of care compassion and belonging. We also heard from the team at the National Literacy Trust about the 10 year project they are engaged in with The People's Learning Trust, to improve standards in literacy in all schools.
Tuesday's INSET day was school based, where we discussed our school improvement priorities, set plans for the year, and staff completed CWAC Level 2 Safeguarding training.
We are thrilled to announce that our Before & After School Club has a brand new name: Treetops! Well done to Josh in Magpies class who thought of the name. To celebrate, we are inviting all children to join us for our official Naming Party!

It's a great way for you to stay connected with your child's learning journey and see all the fantastic things happening in their classroom. We'll be using it to share photos, videos, and updates, as well as celebrate your child's successes.
If you haven't already, please use the login information to sign up this week. If you have any trouble logging in or have misplaced your details, please don't hesitate to contact the school office, and we'll be happy to help.
Each year we invite parents into school for Stay & Do... events. These special sessions allow you to see your child take part in a lesson. You can see how happy and comfortable your child is in class, and how they enjoy their learning - the children are always very proud to show off their work! It also gives you a chance to see how we teach, so you have a better insight into your child's learning.
This half term, we're inviting you to Stay & Do... Reading for Pleasure on Wednesday the 24th of September. Come along, find a cosy spot, and enjoy 20 minutes of reading for pleasure with your child. It's the perfect way to share the magic of books and help us grow a love for reading together.

This is a great chance to hear all about the exciting learning journey your child will be on this year. You'll find out about the topics they’ll be covering, what a typical day looks like in their classroom, and how you can best support their learning at home.
Each session will run from 3.30 - 4.00 and again from 4.00 - 4.30. The information from the sessions will be hosted on the website as well.
As a school, we are dedicated to fostering strong partnerships with our families. We believe that open communication is key to your child's success, and that you should feel comfortable asking questions and sharing your thoughts. Today you will have also received a snapshot of this half term's learning in your child's class. At the end of the school day, our staff are always available on the playground as children are dismissed. This is the perfect time to ask a quick question (or share any good news!). We are here to help!
A massive thank you to Duttons Builders Merchants in Middlewich for their incredibly generous donation of trellis panels. This wonderful gift has made a huge difference in our Early Years outdoor classroom, and we are so grateful for their support.
The new trellis panels are a fantastic addition, helping us to create a beautiful, engaging, and even more stimulating environment for our youngest pupils to explore, learn, and play in. It is through the kindness of local businesses like Duttons that we can continue to enhance the learning experience for all our children.
Thank you once again for your generosity!
