Legacy Award Winners

The Wilton High School Model Congress is one of the most long standing and elite clubs at WHS. Because of our long history, there are some graduate names that are consistently mentioned by our adviser, Mr. Dunaj, to help preserve a bit of our club history and culture. The MC Executive Board and Mr. Dunaj believe it appropriate to commemorate some of the immortals who have passed through halls of the club throughout the years.

Mr. Jonah Hirsch, '18

Inducted on December 20, 2018Jonah Hirsch, who graduated with the Class of ‘18 was selected for his consistent dedication as steadfast leadership as a member and as President. His success in greatly increasing club membership and maintaining a respectful and nurturing decorum provided a forum for civilized student discourse. Jonah did not employ the typical leadership style that we have grown accustomed do in high school clubs. Jonah, “The Soft Spoken Leader”, had an ability to mobilize his peers to want to be a part of the WHS Model Congress and something bigger. Jonah has unique form of charisma that made every student who he encountered at the high school both in and outside of Model Congress comfortable and valued.
Jonah’s leadership reinforced the values of the high school mission and what the majority of students wanted model congress to be as a student run/organized extracurricular activity. Jonah might not realize it but his influence on the current board and future boards will ensure that the WHS Model Congress will continue to maintain its status as the “PREMIER” club/team at WHS.
