Leadership

Albert Schweitzer once said, “Example is not the main thing in influencing others, it is the only thing.” Through Leadership we should exert a positive influence in our school. By taking the initiative in classes and activities, the real leader tries to help others reach their common goal of success. The price of leadership is sacrifice--the willingness to put aside your personal interests for the interests of others. In other words, be willing to give up the ‘me’ for the ‘we’, the individual accolades for team success.

A leader has self-confidence and will go forward when others hesitate. No matter what power and resources may exist in a school, community, or nation, they are ineffective without the guidance of a wise leader. Imagine a team without a coach, a classroom without a teacher, and a nation without a President. People willing to assume the role of leader are always needed; so each of us must continue to demonstrate positive leadership--in the classroom, in the community, and in our personal choices.
