Overall Task Scenario:
You have submitted what you have been working on to the foundation. You need to make sure that, on the recording, you use your performance skills as effectively as you can to communicate your intentions to the foundation.
Once recorded, you will listen to your work back and give yourself feedback on the performance and how you have used musical elements and performance skills. You will also do this with the submissions of others.
To complete this assessment you can choose to do one of the following:
Written Evaluation - You will need to write an evaluation of your music and the music of one other.
Audio or Video Evaluation - You will need to record an evaluation of your music and one other either as a video or as an audio recording.
You will also be recorded performing your music.
You will be assessed on the following criterion and strands:
Criterion B - Developing Skills
ii. Demonstrate using skills and techniques to create or perform music. (Bii)
Criterion D - Responding
iii. Evaluate certain principles/elements of music. (Dii)
For each of the assessment strands you will need to answer the following questions in order to gain the grade:
Limited (1/2) What skills and techniques have you used to perform or create the music?
Adequate (3/4) How have you used these skills and techniques in the music you have performed or created?
Substantial (5/6) Why was it important to use these skills and techniques in your performance/creation?
Excellent (7/8) Why did you choose to use these skills and techniques over others you could have used instead?
Limited (1/2) What has worked well in your music and what could be improved?
Adequate (3/4) How has the music worked well and how could you develop the areas of improvement?
Substantial (5/6) Why has the music worked well and how will improvements make the music more successful?
Excellent (7/8) How well have the ideas worked in the music and how might you explore them differently?
