Assessment Task 1

Overall Task Scenario:

The foundation would find it useful if you could take what you have learnt and put it to practice in a musical response. In order for them to document the process from start to finish they would like you to submit evidence of your artistic intention and what ideas you are proposing for the piece of music you have been inspired to create.

Things that you will need to consider are:

• How will your idea express beauty of some kind?

• How will you organise and structure your music to achieve this?

• How will you use research and knowledge gained to help you come up with your idea?

• Why are these ideas the most effective for achieving your goal?

To complete this assessment you can choose to do one of the following:

1. Deliver a presentation - You will need to create a presentation that can be delivered to the class. The presentation should last no more than 4 minutes and will be recorded.

2. A written proposal - You will need to create a written proposal on a google docs that can be submitted by itself.

3. Take part in an interview - You will take part in an interview where you will be asked a series of questions about the proposal. This should last no more than 4 minutes and will be recorded.

You will be assessed on the following criterion and strands:

Criterion A - Knowing and Understanding

iii. Demonstrate awareness of knowledge gained and music created. (Aiii)

Criterion C - Thinking Creatively

i. Identify an artistic intention (Ci)

ii. Identify alternatives and perspectives. (Cii)
