Val is starting her 7th year as the Harper School Nurse!  She started her nursing career as an ER nurse at UCLA , and then received her graduate degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from DePaul University.  Before coming to Harper, she worked for 6 years on the Spinal Cord Injury unit at the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab, formerly known as The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.  Val is thrilled to be working at her own elementary alma mater!  She loves working in a school setting and feels lucky that she gets to see kids everyday.  When she's not at Harper, Val enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 boys, traveling, reading, cooking, and shopping.  She just recently got into the podcast Crime Junkies, and she's hooked!
