DESSA

DESSA stands for Devereux Student Strengths Assessment (Aperture Education) and is a strengths-based measure of students' Social-Emotional competencies. DESSA assesses 8 social and emotional competencies and the purpose is to help teachers plan instruction, identify student strengths and those who are in need of extra support.

In D39 K-4 teachers complete the DESSA mini two times during the year (fall and spring) on all students, and may complete the long-form on students indicating need with social emotional support.

MESH

MESH stands for Mindsets, Essential Skills, and Habits (Panorama Ed), and is a strengths-based measure of students' Social-Emotional competencies as well as school climate. Results from MESH are used to gauge social-emotional areas of strength as well as areas for additional instruction and support.

In D39 5-8 students complete the MESH assessment two times during the year (fall and spring).
