Mentorship

Opportunity to Positively Impact Youth in our Community

The WBL Advisory Committee suggested starting a mentorship program for our students at our October 2020 meeting. Jason Duininck offered to mentor one of our students during an Occupational Interview later that month! After an email exchange with Ken Warner of the Willmar Area Lakes Chamber of Commerce, he sent out an invitation to their members to apply to become mentors for our Work-Based Learning students.

Mentors and Mentees

  • Talk once per week for about 15 minutes (phone, via text or voice, email, or virtual meeting)

  • Purpose is to encourage students on their path to high school graduation and next steps.

  • Length of commitment is about 4 months, or as long as it takes for the student to complete the Work-Based Learning Seminar credit.

  • Students will earn units for their participation; this is a great option for students who are unable to attend class regularly.

To be filled out by potential Mentees (Students)
