Spring Term

As an experience rich school, we love to take our learning outside of the classroom and into the wider world. This term we attended the British Educational Training and Technology Show. 

We were able to visit many of the 700 exhibitors, meeting leading figures in educational technology, asking them questions and testing out their innovations. We also asked questions about careers, design processes and got some free merchandise along the way!  

HISTORY is when we learn about the past and how we interpret the past, and the impact on the present day.  

It is important to learn about World War 2 because it has shaped our local area.

This spring, our sharing assembly centred on our experiences from BETT, as well as our class projects focused on promoting sustainability within our school. It was a great opportunity to reflect on our learning, practise speaking confidently to an audience, and inspire others with our ideas for a more sustainable future.

This important workshop focused on staying safe, understanding the risks of gang involvement, and knowing where to find help and support. The session encouraged thoughtful discussion and helped us to better understand how to make safe and positive choices.

This January, welcomed our parents and carers to our Reading Café, where we enjoyed a relaxed morning of reading together. With books, juice, coffee, tea and biscuits, it was a lovely opportunity to celebrate reading for pleasure and share our love of books in a calm and cosy atmosphere.

P.E. is when we learn about technical movements/skills, improving our fitness, the rules of games, being competitive and working collaboratively. 

It is important to learn about dance because it allows us to develop self-expression, improve coordination, and learn about different cultures and styles.

It is important to learn how to play badminton because it develops our agility, technical skills and hand to eye coordination.

D&T is when we learn to plan, make and evaluate a product to solve a problem.

It is interesting to respond to design challenges because it can help us to understand how design can be used to solve real-life problems. 

French is when we learn a different modern foreign language. 

It is interesting to learn about families in French because it will help us talk about ourselves and our lives in French.

Music is a subject where we learn about the art and science of sound, and where we learn to play different musical instruments (including our voices).

It is important to learn a skill that you can continue to develop and which also has many transferable skills. 

Geography is when we learn about the influence that people and places have over one another, and question the complex issues that link them together.

It is important to learn about being a sustainable citizen because it is your civic responsibility to help look after the planet and its resources.
