Science is when we learn about how the world works through questioning, investigating and analysing.
It is important to learn about evolution and inheritance because we discover our origins and our relationship to other living things.
As part of these topics, we took our learning outside of the classroom, to the Natural History Museum as well as West Ham Park. We attended several different workshops to get hands-on experience and to learn from and work alongside scientists, researchers and ecologists.

As part of our learning in PE, we represented our school at a borough-wide football tournament held at the West Ham United youth training ground. We played well, worked collaboratively as a team, and showed great sportsmanship throughout the day. Most importantly, we had a fun and memorable experience.
We wore yellow as part of Hello Yellow for Mental Health Day. We took time to talk openly about our mental health, learned strategies to support our wellbeing, practised mindfulness activities, and reflected on the importance of looking after ourselves and each other.
Music is where we learn about the art and science of sound, and where we learn to play different musical instruments (including our voices).
It is important to learn a skill that you can continue to develop and which also has many transferable skills.
This term, we have been exploring different genres of music - Bossa Nova and Jazz. We have also been practising switching between different chords, playing songs that require a lot of different finger placements and timings, as well as developing our skills of improvisation.

We worked collaboratively to research and put together presentations about famous human features around the world. We then used this knowledge to compete in a class-wide Geography competition.

We shared what we had learnt about conflict resolution, mutual respect, the protected characteristics and challenging inequality during our sharing assembly.
Art & Design is when we learn about exercising our artistic choices and reflect upon the works of influential artists.
We designed our own self portraits, full of things that we love.

We have been developing our football skills - dribbling, passing, shooting and saving. We are looking forward to putting our skills to the test by competing in a local football competition. Wish us luck!
