Google Classroom allows teachers to set assignments, have work submitted by students, to mark, and to return graded work with feedback.
Google Classroom also allows parents to monitor the work their child is being set and completing with the use of guardian summaries.
At the top, click on the Stream tab.
Click on the Announce something to your class.
Type your announcement and then click Post to post immediately, or click the down arrow > Schedule to post the announcement at a later date or time.
At the top, click on the Classwork tab.
Click on the Create button > Topic.
Name your topic.
Once the topic is created, click on the topic and drag up and down to organise.
At the top, click on the Classwork tab.
Click on the Create button > Assignment.
Fill in the Title and Instructions boxes.
Click the following to attach a file:
Paperclip - File on your computer
Drive icon - File in your Drive
Video - YouTube URL
Link icon - link to a website
Next to the attachment, select either:
Students can view the file
Students can edit the file
Make a copy for each student
File in the Date and Time fields.
Assign the assignment to a topic.
Click the assign button to post the assignment, or click the down arrow > Schedule to post the assignment at a later date or time.
Click the assignment to be marked on the Classwork tab.
Click on View Assignment in the bottom right corner.
Click on an individual's piece of work.
Highlight and click on the Add comment icon that appears to give feedback.
On the right hand side, you can add a grade and private comments to the piece of work.
Click return at in the top right corner.
Click Return in the pop up box.
Click the > arrow in the top right corner to move onto the next students work.
