This is Indy's Digital Learning Object where she explains what she has learnt about the Sun using Explain Everything.
What is the Moon made out of? Why doesn't it make its own light? Where does the Moon's light come from?
What are the layers of the Sun?
This week Kaikomako are learning about where heat and light come from. We learnt about how the Sun makes energy and that it is made out of gas! We now know that there are no volcanoes or rock on the Sun. The core of the Sun is made Hydrogen.
How Maui slowed the Sun
Here's another great story about how the Atua Māui and his brothers slowed the sun to give people more light in the day.
How does the Sun make heat and light?
Where does the heat and light actually come from? How does it work? Lucas F. told us about how the Earth was formed from lots of smaller rocks connecting up and making bigger and bigger rocks and finally forming the Earth. That's how the Sun formed but from hydrogen gas, not rock!
