Recently I interviewed people in the Middle School. I asked them one of two questions, "Would you go to Mars with Elon Musk?" and "How would you solve the rising gas problems?" Continue reading to see how others responded.
I walked around the middle school and asked various people if they would go to Mars with Elon Musk. First I talked to Mason Peterson. When asked if he would go to Mars he originally said yes, explaining "I would be the first or second person to be on Mars." After further discussion about visiting Mars, he ultimately decided to stay on planet Earth. Next, I talked to Mrs. Martin. She immediately knew she wanted to go to Mars without a doubt. On the contrary, when I asked her if there was anything she would miss on Earth she responded immediately. "Well, I've always wanted to be in space ever since I was a little tiny girl, so no, nothing. It's always been my dream." Later I asked Jenna and Maggie Murray about this topic. They both said they would not go to Mars. After deciding not to factor Elon Musk's character into the equation, a conversation about the things and people on Earth that we would miss on Mars ensued. Various things like our pets, family, and simply the ground led to the ultimate conclusion of saying no to Mars.
The second question I asked people is what they would do to solve the rising gas prices. I first approached Liam Dennis, and he presented two different options. These options consisted of conserving the gas and finding alternate sources, "... such as different planets - if that is even accessible to us with our current technology". After continuing the conversation he presented another interesting idea to reduce waste by dropping out the trash on Venus, where it would all burn up. His other idea, to "dig a giant hole where Finland is" was not as well thought out, and most likely will not happen in the future . The other response I received consisted of rationing the gas and punishing those who did not abide to the rations.
