Music is made up of pitches and rhythms.
Pitches are identified using the solfa syllables la-sol-mi-do and re.
Rhythms are identified using the Kodály syllables ta, ti-ti, quarter rest, and ta-ah.
Written music is divided up into measures according to time signature/meter, to make it easier to read and feel.
Music is performed with a steady beat, so that we can all stay together.
