West Hartford Public Schools is committed to dedicating the 2020-2021 school year to embedding anti-racism and social emotional learning into our classrooms. Both social studies and English courses will be exploring the history of racism and anti-racism in our country through academic content, whether it be reading Black authors or studying current events. Social emotional learning will also be embedded in lessons and activities throughout the year. I am committed to creating a safe classroom in which these issues can be discussed and perhaps sometimes debated. We will learn together, grow together, and together we will work to promote inclusivity, justice, and health in our community.
