Open Library

Open Library is a great way to “check out” (pun intended) new books while library buildings are closed. Setting up an account is really easy. Click - Sign Up - on the top right, enter your email address, a screen name and password, then check your inbox to verify your email account, and you are good to go! All you need to do is use the Search box on the top to find the book or author you are looking for. I found it easier to search for Tedd Arnold directly because I wasn’t sure which books they had available – turns out they have a lot! Once you find the book you want, you can click – Borrow – and it will automatically open the book for you to read. There is an option to have the book read to you, but the voice is very robotic and moves quickly. This is definitely a site you will want to be on with your child and read to them just as if it were a paper book.
