Catching up on Events From the 2021-2022 Season (27 January 2022)...
High School Wrestling Dairyland Conference Dual vs Cochrane-Fountain City
"Lost the Battle. Won the War."
The Norse headed over the Arcadia Ridge and down to the Mississippi River to dual the Pirates in the first installment of the Dairyland Conference Duals.
Cochrane-Fountain City was pretty depleted this season. They did have one active wrestler on the weight sheet. He would be future 2021-2022 WIAA sectional qualifier Abraham Henderson at 152. Knowing Henderson was a hammer, and with the dual win in the bag before weigh ins, Coach Peterson had Poulos and Katzman available. Coach called up rookie Broc Coburn's number to face Henderson to get some heavier experience on the resume. Coburn wrestled hard before being put out by Henderson. Rest assured we studied the film and added that data into Broc's training regime.
Picking up the forfeits in the 60 to 6 win over C-FC was Wylie Dunn, Nolan Thompson, Brock Johnson, Markus Peterson, Alex Katzman, Matthew Poulos, Lukas Paske, Brekken Kulig, Adam Kleinhans, and Taevyon Saintfort.
Whitehall would be in action again in the 2021-2022 season in the Indee Invitational, that next weekend.
The only photo we have of the C-FC Dual is of Jeramy Dunn and Chad Coburn; enjoy. Coaches and parents must have been eating hot dogs instead of taking photos that night. 😆

Catching up on Events From the 2021-2022 Season (27 January 2022)...
Junior High Wrestling Meet at Cochrane-Fountain City.
"Take Me to the River"
The last January the Junior High Team hitched a ride with the high schoolers and headed down to the Big River to wrestle area teams at Cochrane-Fountain City.
The Big Dogs of the night were veteran wrestlers D. Hutsell and C. Kulig. Hutsell had a dominant night going 3-0 with 3 pins. C. Kulig was right behind going 2-0 with a pin and a decision.
Two other guys having great nights were R. Matejka (unbreakable) and J. Klidzejs (unbreakable). Matejka went 2 and 1 with a pin and a great 1-0 win in a very tight match. We like the close ones. Good character builders. Klidzejs had a great night taking two wins by pins and was on the short side of a great close match.
B. Smith put good time in at C-FC wrestling hard and picking up experience. He has all the tools. Other guys finding success tonight were F. Juresh IV (unbreakable) taking a pin and losing a controversial match by a score of 4 to 3. K. Juresh (unbreakable) took a pin for a win. Two other Norse taking pins were E. Peterson and T. Smith. Peterson and smith were both aggressive in their matches.
There weren't many photos at C-FC.
