What will we learn?

In this block, pupils will learn how to smooth a form out of clay. They will explore a range of materials to understand the importance of weight and balance in construction and they will use recycled materials to create their own sculpture inspired by The Enchanted Owl by Kenojuak Ashevak.

• Why is it easier to make big pebbles? 

• What are you most pleased with? 

• What happens if you build your inuksuk, starting with the smallest pebbles or blocks? 

• What would you do to make improvements?
