Students will focus on developing a positive self-concept by using effective communication skills in peer relationships. Instructional activities may include: money management, career readiness, basic sewing, and food preparation. A supply list will be given on the first day of class.

This is a hands-on lab skills course. Selected topics will be explored in areas of:
Grade 6: Physical science, microscopy, cell biology, meteorology, and oceanography
Grade 7: Botany, ecology, chemistry, geology, and agriculture
Grade 8: Physical science, physics, astronomy, and biology

This course is designed to help students develop leadership skills by focusing on:
6th grade - goal-setting and self-awareness
7th grade - examining leaders and executing an action project
Communication skills will be embedded in the units throughout the quarter.

Students in this course analyze choices individuals can make that promote and protect or harm their health.
FVB0013 Art (Grade 8)
This course focuses on the exploration of a variety of art media and techniques for personal expression and provides students with further opportunities to apply the elements and principles of design.
