For Fall, skinny/yearlong, independent study, and homeschool students, the Fall deadline to register and pay for their AP exam is October 31, 2025.
For Spring students, the Spring deadline to register and pay for their AP exam is February 27, 2026.
Use the specific sections below to find information on how to register and pay for any AP exams here at Wheeler High School.
AP Exam Fee Structure
AP Exam (starting this year, this also includes AP Seminar and AP Research) - $104 ($99 College Board fee + $5 Total Registration processing fee)
One-Time Non-Refundable Administration Fee - $15 (only applied once a year)
Late Fee (if applicable) - $42 ($40 College Board fee + $2 Total Registration processing fee)
AP Exam Waivers
Waivers cannot be applied to Independent Study AP exams.
During the Total Registration process, students will be asked two questions:
1) Does the student qualify for the Federal Free or Reduced Lunch Program?
2) Is the student registering to take any STEM exams?
Free/Reduced Lunch waiver:
With the combination of funding from the state of Georgia and Cobb County, any student who qualifies for Free or Reduced lunch will have ALL their AP exams paid for the entire school year.
Georgia STEM waiver:
The state of Georgia will pay for ONE STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) AP exam for a student each year.
This applies to:
Science - AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Physics C: Mechanics, or AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism
Technology - AP Computer Science A and AP Computer Science Principles
Math - AP Calculus AB/BC, AP Precalculus, and AP Statistics
Payments, Late Fees, Cancellation, and No-Show Fees:
If a student requests to use one of the waivers above, the one-time non-refundable $15 administration fee will still need to be paid.
All late fees will be applied when necessary even if one of the waivers above has been approved.
If a student who used one of the two waivers wishes to cancel their exam after the full refund deadline OR does not show up for their waived AP exam, they must pay a $40 cancellation/no-show fee per waived AP exam. All seniors who incur $40 cancellation/no-show fees must pay the fees before they can walk at graduation.
