Hui a Kura (School Assemblies)
Hui-a-kura are our whole school assemblies which are held every alternate Monday. These hui bring us together formally as a group, helping to reinforce pride in our school and our sense of belonging.
Hui are run by our Year 6 House Leaders and include:
opening and closing karakia
the National Anthem
an address from Matua Danny or one of the Deputy Principals
acknowledgment of the “Caught Being Good” winners and other award winners there may be
a special Principal’s Award for excellence awarded to two children from each syndicate
whole school waiata practice
notices
awarding a ceremonial hoe (paddle) to the syndicate who have shown the best behaviour during the hui
At the end of each term we also hold a special citizenship assembly, where a student from every class is recognised for consistently demonstrating our school values.
Whanau are welcome and encouraged to attend all of our hui.
