This artifact is a math lesson plan that I used in my Demonstration teaching. This artifact demonstrates my competency in differentiated instruction, as it shows that students were paired based on ability, and lower scoring math students were given unifix cubes as manipulatives to help them with their math. This artifact had an effect on student learning by allowing lower-scoring students to have a hands-on tool to use during their independent student practice. Based on this artifact’s effect on student learning, I would modify the unifix cubes into a different manipulative based upon the particular lesson we were doing for math for future use.
