Our school counseling program at West Grand High School is derived from the ASCA National Model.

Foundation - Mission, vision, beliefs, and basis of the program live here. This is where student and school counselor competencies are defined. More information on the "home" page.
Management - In this domain program assessment and counseling department tools can be found including: an advisory council, annual agreements with administration, use of data, action plans, annual calendars, and counselor use of time assessments. (Many of these items can be found on the "resources" page)
Delivery - This is where individual student planning and response services live. 80% of the WGHS Counseling program focus is on delivery of student services in order to achieve the MOST effective use of time. Please view the Direct and Indirect Delivery student services/activities below. Students and parents can access services on the "services" page.
Accountability - Counselors will apply the ASCA standards to their practice as well as use needs assessments and program data to inform the effectiveness of the West Grand High School counseling program. Evaluations of the school counselor and the school counseling program are done on a yearly basis.

Advisory Council
Here at West Grand High School we find that the Advisory Council adds exponential value to our program. The advisory council is made up of students, parents, teachers, school counselors, administrators and community members. These council members review and make valued recommendations for our school counseling program. If you are interested in becoming a council member please fill out the form below and a representative from the West Grand High School Counseling Advisory Board will contact you.
