Vocal Exploration is a vital part of learning how to sing, create and replicate music. The mere act of singing a tune requires elements such as focused listening, tonal memory, inner hearing (audiation), flexible vocal chords, good intonation (ability to sing in tune), and rhythm competency. Every week, we build our musicianship through vocal exploration. Here's a Prezi I created to use with students. This is just one of many activities I engage in to help my students develop their musicianship.

If the line is low on the page, sing a low pitch. If the line is higher on the page, sing a high pitch. There are also middle pitches, swirling sounds, curved sounds or jagged edges, zigzags, shapes, etc.
