Chorus

Welcome to all of our new and returning Tangier Smith chorus members! 

We're so excited to have our 2025-2026 chorus semester underway! 

If you're here during your free time, you've already shown how dedicated you are to our chorus at Tangier Smith Elementary. I'm so proud of you and I'm happy that you're a part of our choir.

Please practice your music at least 15 minutes each night! Try your best to memorize the lyrics, and to sing with tall vowels! Sing vertically, not horizontally. Be confident, but don't shout! Sing with a quiet excitement. Practice listening to the music while audiating your vocal part (sing the music in your mind without making a sound). After you have completed these tasks, practice singing along with the music. Always be a mindful listener. Be musical with the delivery of your performance. Try to imagine how you want to look and sound on the night of our concert. Thank you for your dedication. 

Group A meets on Tuesday mornings from 8:15-9:15 a.m. 

Group B meets on Wednesday mornings from 8:15-9:15 a.m.

In the beginning of the semester, Chorus members will be responsible to attend only one rehearsal a week, depending upon the group he/she is assigned to. As the concert approaches, all chorus members will be required to attend both Tuesday and Wednesday rehearsals until the concert. 

If you are a chorus member that takes the bus to rehearsals, please make sure that you are at your bus stop no later than 7:30 a.m. on chorus days.

If you are a chorus member who is driven to school for rehearsals, please make sure you arrive at 8:10 a.m. on chorus days. There won't be any supervision if you arrive before then.
