Welcome everyone to Resource Room 20/21!

I am so happy to be working with all of you! If you need to reach me, please email me at dderienzo@wfsd.k12.ny.us or you can reach me more quickly through Remind and I will text you back asap.

Grade level scheduled Zoom meeting times have been sent home via Remind. All confidential information will be sent exclusively via Remind or a phone call. What is posted on this site will not have student names or any personal information pertaining to students. Any work that is posted will be via grade level first, then subdivided, as needed, according to guided reading level. For example, under your child's current grade level, you may find a general introduction video and a lesson specific to the topic we are working on. The work posted, however, will be review work that is geared towards guided reading levels. If an assignment needs to be further modified to meet your child's specific needs, I will post that assignment with a code name (i.e. "alternate assignment") that I will send to you via Remind. You will be the only one who knows which assignment your child is working on. I will send home current reading levels via Remind, updating as need be, and, of course, you can always reach out for further clarification.

When you go to your child's grade level, you will find a printable sheet posted that contains the alphabet. This is a paper version of the magnetic letter tiles board that we use in Resource when we are practicing word work. I will be sending home a printed hard copy of this page to students who are in school, but I am posting it for students who attend virtual class only as well as for if/when your child needs a new copy. Simply hover over the page and you will see a pop up box in the top corner. Click on it and the posted document will open up in a printable format that you can then print out. Directions for color coding and cutting (the dotted lined bottom half only) are printed on the page. That is optional. No need to color code unless your child wants to. Additional paper letter "tiles" will be sent home and posted as needed (grade and/or reading level specific) for when your child progresses.

I am looking forward to a wonderful school year working with you and your child!
