Hi and welcome to fifth grade! I am so happy to be working with all of you!! Here is a paper copy of the magnetic tile board we use in class for word work. I am also sending home a hard copy for you to use. You will also see the "extra" tiles page. This is to use for when we work with digraphs (yellow), vowel teams (pink), welded sounds (all, am, an, etc...) and suffix (long yellow). I will send home two copies of this page. You will need to color them in: 5 digraphs (wh, ch, sh, th, ck--please label these) one plain yellow to represent the extra z, one yellow labeled for each extra letter (f, l, s)--four green (all, am, an-labeled and the other green blank left blank) and 4 pink to start (labeled ai, ay, oi, oy). You also see large rectangles (bright yellow and white). These we will use for suffix tiles. Please cut each into 4 rectangles and label the suffix (s, es, ed, ing, y, ful, ment, ly, less, ness, able, est, ish, and ive). As we move on I will send more pages home.

For now, just keep these handy and use them when you need them. If you are all virtual, please color code them following the instructions on the page. I will be sending hard copies home to everyone...these are just extra,
