Privacy

The district takes student privacy very seriously and is currently working on a process to evaluate online resources to ensure they comply with all privacy laws. This can be an arduous process, but we are partnering with other local school districts to address this important work. Below you will find some resources we are using when evaluating online resources.

The main information we are looking for is around the collection and sharing of student data as well as advertising. Vendors should only collect information that is necessary to provide the service, should not sell that data or use it for any purpose outside of providing the service, and should not use the information to market or advertise to students. The Privacy Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) provides a Model Terms of Service guide that goes into these elements in greater depth.
