Service & Leadership Clubs

AFS Club members work with the American Field Service exchange students in our school and other schools in Wisconsin. Not only do we have foreign exchange students at Whitefish Bay every year, we send our students abroad. The AFS-International Club also participates in social events such as International Dinners and other cultural events to help AFS students and other foreign students to appreciate other cultures and to help Bay students appreciate foreign cultures. 

The Bay Girls Coding Club is an opportunity for high school girls to mentor and teach middle school girls

Bay Gives Back was founded during the 2015-2016 school year to replace National Honor Society at Whitefish Bay High School.  Since its creation, Bay Gives Back has grown into a community  focused service organization for grades 9-12 working to harness the power of youth to make meaningful change in the world around them.  In its four years, Bay Gives Back has grown to be the largest club at Whitefish Bay High School which hosts many events, both large and small, throughout the school year as well as helping fill volunteer needs for community events and local non-profit work.  Bay Gives Back works everyday to create opportunities for all students to truly GIVE BACK!

Best Buddies’ main purpose is to establish one-on-one friendships for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities while creating leadership development for everyone involved; in addition the program highlights the importance of equal treatment and the enjoyment of togetherness. 

A safe place for students of color to openly discuss issues in the world, community and school district. 

Description: Blue Crew (formally Student Council) is a student-led club that promotes school spirit, community engagement, and staff appreciation through our events. We are made up of our executive board members, class officers, amazing staff advisors, and club members from every class. We’re most well known for Homecoming, where we plan everything- the parade, pep rally, decorations, dress up days, and more! We also plan Winter Spirit Week, help with mentoring underclassmen, and hold an annual Spring Fundraiser. No matter what you’re passionate about, there’s always a space in Blue Crew to use your skills. If you want to have a voice in the high school community, this is the club for you! 

Schedule: We plan to meet the first Thursday of every month during lunch in the LMC.  We hold additional meetings based on what you sign up to participate in.

Whitefish Bay Business Club is a great way to get involved in WFBHS’s extracurricular activities! As a member of the club, you will have the opportunity to learn from guest speakers with real world business experience and knowledge. Club members will learn about the guest speaker’s journeys with business and will receive insight into the business world. Along with this, members will have the opportunity to work at the Bay Store, which is located on the first floor across from the boy’s bathroom. The Bay Store sells snacks, drinks, WFB merchandise, and more. This gives students real-life business opportunities and allows them to learn how to make transactions and run a store. There are also leadership opportunities later once you are in the club, so members can get more involved as the years go by! 

Purpose of Club: Inspires and prepares students to become communityminded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences

E.A.R.T.H. (Environmental Action Requiring Teen Hands) is a service-oriented ecology club. The club brings together students interested in ecology to work on environmental projects in our community and on the school grounds. Initiatives include removal of invasive plants, river clean-ups, recycling efforts, and ecological awareness campaigns. Sites visited include the Urban Ecology Center, Schlitz Audubon Center, and local parks. The group also sponsors activities and speakers at school throughout the year. The club offers an opportunity for those interested in the environment to meet and work together to better our environment and community 

This club was created to recognize women in sports and creates a community across multiple backgrounds and athletic events. We'll address issues facing girls in sports and discuss how to handle them and potential solutions. We'll also just have fun together, and set aside a time to enjoy the company of people like us! 

GSA is a group to learn about LGBT+ culture, history, and present-day issues both within and beyond Whitefish Bay. 

Purpose of Club: High school students engage in activities with selected elementary school students in hopes of creating comfort between older and younger students.  We will work with elementary teachers to identify kids who would benefit from/want a “big buddy”

REDgen stands for Resilience through EDucation for a new generation. We hope to make Whitefish Bay High School a safer environment for people to understand and discuss issues around mental health and well-being. 

The purpose of this club is to educate students about gardening, to provide opportunities to volunteer at the hunger task force, and to help provide food for struggling communities. The group would also volunteer at the WFB garden. 

Music honor society is a student organization affiliated with the National Association For Music Educators. It provides students with opportunities for Leadership, Service to their community and school, and advocacy for our school music program. The group has stringent requirements for admission by application and hours of service to maintain membership. Meetings occur monthly and are mandatory for all members. Students must be enrolled in a curricular music ensemble for the school year.
