Books and eBooks

You can search the WHS catalog by keyword, title, or author to see what the WHS library has.

To find the book physically in the WHS library, take note of the title and Call Number.

If you get stuck, you are always welcome to ask for help at the front desk!

What's a Call Number?

A Call Number is like an address for a book, telling you where you can find that book in the library. It might include a short label, or it could be just a Dewey Decimal number. It's printed on the spine of each book. Most call numbers end with the first three letters of the author's name, so books are alphabetical in each category on the shelf. When you search for a book in the catalog, write down its call number to find where it is.

Look below for information about where to find books with each call number in the library.

Need Call Number Help?

The WHS library fiction section is organized by genre. Call numbers for fiction books will start with a short code that tells you what genre section the book is in.

Most nonfiction books are organized numerically according to their Dewey Decimal number.

Biographies and memoirs are alphabetical by subject (the person the biography is about), not by author.

MYTHOLOGY is near the front of the library.

All NONFICTION is arranged by Dewey Decimal Number, arranged numerically.
