Math Workshop
This year, Kindergarten mathematicians will learn...
Use manipulatives/tools to solve problems
Build a STRONG Number Sense foundation (dice patterns, card patterns)
Decomposing numbers/composing within 5, 10 and 20. to recognize numbers 1-20
count to 100
notice number patterns to 100
write numbers (In the correct handwriting formation)
add and subtract within 5, 10 and 20.
Play games, and work cooperatively!
You will need
2 dice and 20 counters (10 for each player of a different color, or different coins)
You can use coins at home.
Put 4-10 pennies in a cup.
(However many you decide, write that number next to the Total Number!)
Spill them, and sort them by heads and tails.
Write how many landed on heads and how many landed on tails.
REPEAT. As the game goes on, talk about what you are noticing. There is always going to be the total number, and you are coming up with different combinations.
This is a 2+ player game
You will need
-Deck of cards, or printable cards above
-6 counters for each player (cheerios, coins, cheeze-its, ect)

If you don't have access to dice, counters, ten frames etc at home, click and use the virtual manipulatives below!
