Strategies to Support Children Who are Struggling to Engage with Distance Learning
Low- Cost Internet Options
Westwood Loaner HotSpot Program:
The Westwood Public Schools has a limited number of wifi hotspots available for families experiencing Internet connectivity issues at home. We are offering two different options as described below:
Two Week Hotspot Loan
Families are encouraged to troubleshoot Internet connectivity issues with their Internet Service Provider (ISP) such as Xfinity or Verizon. Your ISP is most qualified to determine if the service to your home is sufficient and offer suggestions for how to improve it if necessary. The loaner hotspot can be used for a period of two weeks to allow sufficient time to resolve any issues.
Indefinite Hotspot Loan
Families with a demonstrated financial need or other extenuating circumstances can request a loaner hotspot for an extended period of time, up to and including the entire school year.
