Student Check In/Check Out

Please make sure your student has signed up for a time slot. The sign up can be reached via this link.

Students will be expected to practice social distancing guidelines at all times and are encouraged to wear a mask. For students who do not have a mask, every effort will be made to provide one for them on site.

If your student feels ill or if you are aware of contact with a COVID19 case in recent weeks, please communicate to make arrangements for dropping off materials at a later date. You can email your student's dean/principal or opperman.jay@westside66.net

General order of completing tasks for student check in. Not all items apply to all students, depends on classes and activities. (Note senior only items, returning 9-11th grade students will keep computers) We recommend students bring a backpack/bag to carry personal items home.

  • Park in main lot on east side. Check in with id at main entrance
  • Fines if applicable (Seniors only Business Office Window)
  • Drop off textbooks (Main entry, Loge, Attendance Area)
  • Drop off music folders(Near Auditorium entrance)
  • Collect personal items from Music area locker
  • Seniors drop off rental instrument if applicable (Band Room)
  • Collect personal items from hallway locker(Adjust order based on where your locker is. Minimize backtracking in the building)
  • Drop of art tools/equipment
  • Seniors pick up art or fashion projects/materials(Art/FCS Hall)
  • Seniors and non-returning 9-11th grade students-landing to drop off computer(222)
  • Seniors check out with counselors(Landing)
  • Drop off library books(Media Center)
    • Pick up AP Govt/AP US History summer reading(Media Center)
  • Drop off English class literature book(English/WL IMC)
    • Pick up AP English summer reading(English/WL IMC)
  • Go to PE locker room clean out locker and check in lock.
  • Senior exit Cap and Gown, Awards, Checkout(Blue gym)
  • 9-11th grade exit Awards, Checkout(sports mall exit)

What type of materials should my student be returning?

  • All students
    • Textbooks, library books, literature books for English class, music folder, check in PE lock.
  • Senior specific items
    • Pay fines at Business office (card, check, or cash--card or check preferred) or make arrangements for payment. We are aware financial situations have been impacted by COVID19. Arrangements can be made by communicating with your senior student's dean/principal via email/phone.
    • Turn in computers in room 222.
    • Stop at counselor table on landing to communicate senior checkout information.

What may students be picking up?

  • All students
    • Personal items from hallway locker and PE locker.
    • Summer reading assignment materials media center(social studies) English/WL IMC (AP English).
    • Awards (Sports Mall Exit Checkout table)
  • Seniors
    • Art and Fashion projects in Art/Fashion hallway.
    • Cap and Gown, Awards, Senior T-shirt (Blue Gym Checkout)

What if my student has athletic uniforms, etc.

  • Please communicate with the coach for the activity, they will make arrangements.

Will yearbooks be handed out?

  • Yearbooks have been delayed due to COVID19 situation. Books will be delivered this summer. We will communicate via school messenger, student email, and social media once available.

ACT Information-June 13 Date Cancelled at WHS

Westside High School has decided we are cancelling hosting the June 13 ACT due to continued concerns. We will continue to monitor health guidelines and ACT regarding the July 18 test date. We are currently seeking information from ACT on how June test registrations will be handled.

Summer School Information

Westside High School summer school will be offered in an online format this summer June 1 - June 24. The summer school catalog is now available on the WHS webpage at https://whs.westside66.org/news/whs-summer-school-2020-starts-june-1/

Sign ups will begin May 1st through My School Bucks. Sign up information is available through the link. Reminder you can access via the myschoolbucks.com website or you can access through your parent/student sign in to PowerSchool.
