Digital Math

We encourage you to not overload summer with screen time.  However, since some games and programs are a good fit for many students, we still value practice that is done digitally.

Khan Academy

Students completing grades 2 - 5 in Weston all have Khan Academy accounts that were used throughout the year.  Teachers assigned content strategically to match the content of the grade.  If your child enjoyed this platform, they are free to continue work in their account.  They should choose "Courses" and choose the grade they just completed.  They can then work through the rest of the material in a self-directed manner, rather than by teacher assignment.  In most cases, we recommend against choosing material from the next grade.  Teachers may assign these lessons during the next school year, and some students may not enjoy that repetition. khanacademy.org

We also included codes and links to "Getting Ready For" Courses on the digital handout.  Please refer to this handout for instructions.

For incoming K - 2 students, there is an app, Khan Kids, that is better designed for this age student.  We encourage the use of that for self-directed, summer math .learn.khanacademy.org/khan-academy-kids/
