Are you Addicted to Video Games
For over 50 years kids have been playing video games but lately things have taken a turn as kids all around the world get addicted to video games this happens because kids have little self control and don't know when to stop, video game addiction can have effects on kids such as stress oor performance in school and many other not fun side effects.
According to Oscar Butler-Perez a Student at Weston Middle School he says “I think the amount of video games I play is kind of balanced out by the number of sports and after-school activities I do.” When he was asked what kind of games interested him the most he replied “mostly Sports games and lots of action” Other Interviewees replied with more of the same,
Student Gabe Steele was asked if he thinks video games decrease his attention span, and he said “I think the fact that video games such as Fortnite have lots of action and Normal life has much less so, yes” Gabe was also asked if he thinks the amount of video games kids play is an acceptable amount he responded “I think if kids play too much video games to the point where they don't do well in school or extra curricular activities than that is bad but if you still perform well you should be fine.”
How to Treat Video Game Addiction
According to my.Clevelandclinic.org “The main treatment for video game addiction is seeing a therapist but there are other options such as Cognitive-behavioral therapy. This is a goal-orientated type of therapy. Another kind of way to help people with video game addiction is group therapy, a type of psychological therapy.
In conclusion video game addiction is a growing problem that we should all be aware of, and as technology gets smarter this issue will only grow worse as games get more realistic, more action packed and more addicting. Finally to truly sum up this article people play video games and there is not very much you can do so we will just have to adapt like how we did to Covid or the flu.
