I drew this piece of art because it made me feel relaxed and at times I feel like shading. Shading is also a skill that I would like to improve on.
Up above, we did different experiments with the watercolors, and to the right, we made monochromatic, analogous, and complementary colors.
I then added eyes, noses, and mouthes to the monsters that I created and did my best to make each one look unique.
We are starting in a project where we paint blobs with water color paint and draw it like monsters. We had to make our imagination run wild as if we were little kids again.
And this is what my final product is of this project looks like!!!
I added some more deeper colors to make the feather stand out from the paper, and I also added some light pen work to make it stand out. I decided to add some spritzes of blue so that the feather wont just be surrounded by the whiteness of the paper. (Painting to the right)
We are working on painting objects and trying to be not too perfect but not too sloppy at the same time. (painting to the left)
This drawing experience has been new for me, and it tested my level of skill for cutting open a difference between dark and light. It also tested my blending skills to be able to make a subtle change between the dark and light parts of the skeleton.
I painted on pieces of duct tape using some acrylic paint. I thought that it would be unique to try out something different rather than sticking to working with watercolor and paper. I first thought of a sunset and mountains, so I painted things very simple and added new things as I went along. As I finished, it looked like a mini world in there. I decided to make a few more, so I created the Winter, Autumn, Spring, and wave paintings. They look so simple yet they seem to have a lot of energy and life within them. I also did another painting with watercolor and duct tape. I painted a somewhat messy background with mountains and trees during the day time. I put two long pieces of duct tape in the center and draw the night time version of the daylight version of the landscape. To me, this was such a new idea and experience compared to everything else I’ve drawn/ painted.
