So far, I've drawn/ painted pieces of art that reflect my emotions or ideas. For this project, I will be basing my drawing/ painting on a story I heard called A Real Friend. I will be using water color to express this idea.
I made a painting from watercolor of someone handing a yellow rose to another person. The yellow rose represents friendship, so I thought that it would be nice to convey a friend giving someone a yellow rose to symbolize their friendship. I wanted to make it seem as though handing a yellow rose to someone will wash them in the yellow the rose emits, showing the new friendship. In the story I heard called A Real Friend, it was about someone who had made her friend laugh, and it was her first time hearing her friend laugh. I thought that this watercolor painting could also help to represent an opening of a great friendship and happiness. An artist, Michelle Endersby, who paints beautiful flowers helped to influence my work, along with the story A Real Friend on Race Bridges Studio. I also made two more designs regarding this theme I decided to go with as well. I try and execute this project by showing everyone the power of friendship, and add vibrant colors to further express that bond.
