PLTW Courses

The Project Lead the Way (PLTW) program is a sequence of courses which follows a proven hands-on, real-world problem-solving approach to learning.  Students are also given the opportunity to earn college credit from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. 

• • In PLTW Biomedical courses, students explore the concepts of human medicine and are introduced to topics such as physiology, genetics, microbiology and public health. Through activities, like dissecting a heart, students examine the processes, structures and interactions of the human body often playing the role of biomedical professionals.

  • In PLTW Engineering courses, students learn and apply the design process, acquire strong teamwork and problem-solving skills. They discover how things are made and what processes go into creating products.

  • In PLTW Computer Science courses, the program’s interdisciplinary courses engage students in compelling, real-world challenges. As students work together to design solutions, they learn computational thinking – not just how to code – and become better thinkers and communicators. Students take from the courses in-demand knowledge and skills they will use in high school and for the rest of their lives, on any career path they take.
