PLTW Courses
Project Lead the Way
The Project Lead the Way (PLTW) program is a sequence of courses which follows a proven hands-on, real-world problem-solving approach to learning. Students are also given the opportunity to earn college credit from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
In PLTW Biomedical courses, students explore the concepts of human medicine and are introduced to topics such as physiology, genetics, microbiology and public health. Through activities, like dissecting a heart, students examine the processes, structures and interactions of the human body often playing the role of biomedical professionals.
In PLTW Engineering courses, students learn and apply the design process, acquire strong teamwork and problem-solving skills. They discover how things are made and what processes go into creating products.
In PLTW Computer Science courses, the program’s interdisciplinary courses engage students in compelling, real-world challenges. As students work together to design solutions, they learn computational thinking – not just how to code – and become better thinkers and communicators. Students take from the courses in-demand knowledge and skills they will use in high school and for the rest of their lives, on any career path they take.
