Aerospace Engineering

PLTW Engineering Aerospace and Drone Operations empower you to step into the role of an engineer, drone pilot, airplane mechanic, adopt a problem-solving mindset, and make the leap from dreamer to doer.

Animal Science

Our Animal Science students learn all about animal breeds, care, nutrition, and medical needs as well as the science behind food production.  Students love getting hands-on experience and learning more about animals of all kinds from their household pet to the livestock that feeds the world.  Animal science is great for any student who likes animals and thinks they might want to make a career out of that love.

Biomedical Science

Whether discovering new cancer treatments or teaching healthy lifestyle choices to their communities, today’s biomedical science professionals are tackling big challenges to make the world a better place. Biomedical Science students are taking on these same real-world challenges – and they’re doing it before they even graduate from high school!

Business / Marketing

Do you want to start your own business? Are you creative? If so, the Business/Marketing Program is for you. You will learn about business management, entrepreneurship, and other careers in business. Marketing helps turn everyday products into household names. Learn how to identify potential customers, develop campaigns that generate interest and drive spending, and how companies maximize market share through product development and enhancement, customer service, and social media.

Computer Science

The need for personal and professional information technology knowledge and cybersecurity skills has never been greater.  In this pathway, you will learn how to build, fix, and upgrade computer hardware.  You will also learn how to program and secure personal computers while utilizing real-world skills. 

Construction

The Construction program provides a strong foundation for the skills required by the construction industry. Students learn about woodworking, fine carpentry, residential construction systems and advanced trade skills used by industry professionals. Construction 2 allows for OSHA certification and training in Sketchup.

Culinary Arts

Is cooking your passion? Do you have what it takes to be the next restaurant or hospitality superstar?  ProStart was developed by industry experts to help jump start your career. Master the fundamental management and culinary skills needed in all aspects of the restaurant, food service and hospitality industries. Gain industry-recognized credentials and employability skills of leadership, accountability, and teamwork!

Education & Training

Education Exploration and Child/Adolescent Development: Students learn about child and teen growth & development, as well as explore careers in education (1-year course). 

Early Childhood Education (ECE): this course prepares students to work in an early childhood education center. Internship hours at WPS early learning centers are a part of the course.

Engineering

Graphic Design & Interactive Media

Learn to use the computer to create art! Work with materials and methods from graphic design and multimedia industries and create a digital portfolio to exhibit your creativity. Graphic Design and Interactive Media (GDIM) courses explore art and design through hands-on experience.

Health Occupations

Do you like helping people, science, and making a difference? Then the medical field might be for you!

Jobs in the medical field are in high demand. The Health Occupations course provides you with hands-on experiences that are relevant to the medical field to help prepare you to work as a medical professional.


Plant Science

Our Plant Science students learn all about plant science, plant identification, crop production and how plants are used for landscaping, design, and profit. They also have the chance to learn about the natural resources and environment in Colorado. Students love to work in our top-of-the-line greenhouse and participate in our yearly plant sales. 

Power, Structural and Technical Systems (PSTS)


Our PSTS students learn all about metal fabrication, engine and power systems, energy, electrical, and irrigation systems. Students love to work in our shop while they learn about power, structural and technology systems.



Video Cinema Arts

Do you have a message you want to tell through a video or short movie? Sign up for Video Cinema Arts (VCA) to learn how to write, direct, shoot, edit and market your work!  Students will shoot and edit various live sports events, performing arts productions, and schoolwide video announcements. In VCA, you will learn the basics of video production and produce your own short films that can be shown at regional film festivals.
