So many smiles........ Is this the happiest place on earth?  If you ask a Girl Scout, she is likely to say YES!  Best wat to spend Election Day, while the girls have the day off from school.

Veterans Day Parade, Ceremony & "Way to Repay" Home deliveries...

Our girls have so many opportunities to thank our local hero's, learn from them and build priceless relationships.

Building Relationships in Our Community.......

Girl Scouts and Volunteers gather from all over to honor our departed American Veterans at the Wreaths across America event hosted by the Peekskill American Legion Post 274 at The Hillside & Assumption Cemeteries.Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to help!

Caroling at Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities......

How does it make you feel to spread love and joy during the Holiday Season?  After 3 years of "No Entry" the girls are invited back.  We were creative during the pandemic with our car parades and drop offs, and they were greatly appreciated.  Special shout out to our Leader Tara (and Sal) who facilitated this year...... Im anticipating they will grow this tour and I cant wait, how about you?

Think Like an Engineer.......

Girl Scouts and Volunteers from many Communities will gather again for an afternoon of learning, sharing and making new friends.  Thank you everyone who contributed, last year, and a special shout out to Jen,  Amy and Natalie for putting together all the programing for the Cadette and Senior Engineering Journey.  This year we are pleased to partner with our friends and Mahopac Service Unit.  This will be a two day opportunity for Older girls and younger girls will have a change to earn and learn as well!  

Family and Friends Ice Skating.....

Girl Scouts do it all!  I was so proud of the kids and parents that took advantage of our full rink rental.  So many girls, siblings and parents had the opportunity to skate with their parents.  They had plenty of room to spread out and give it a try........ 

Swim Nights at LCBMS.....

Girl Scouts have fun at the pool and are so proud of our Girl Scout Lifeguards!  Thank you Pam, Kaydi and Caryn!  you ladies rock!  The girls get a sneak Peek of the Pool at Copper Beech MS, along with the locker rooms! Swim Night with a twist...... Maureen is multitasking, I said swimming, she heard sewing.

Cookies, Cookies, Cookies........  

Our girls are learning so much about sales, marketing, customer service  and community service, in addition to supporting our council, their troop and earning rewards for themselves.  

Operation Cookie Drop.........

Have you ever wondered where all the cookies go for OP DROP?  Well, they go near and far!   On this day we dropped 3000 boxes to the West Point Cadets!  They gave us a nice tour of the campus and we lucked out to see them drop from the choppers......  and so much more.

Lets here it for Operation Cookie Drop again!  Yorktown Lions Club hosted Summer music series, and this one was dedicated to the active and retired Veterans.  Lets not forget the Cadet Nurse Corp!  Yes, still fighting for recognition for their service.  We celebrated and we are honored to thank our Local Hero's .

Marching in Parades .....

March can be wet and wild!  Luckily last year the Annual St. Patricks Day Parade was better weather then the year before, great Job girls.  Who  remembers the 2022  parade?  it was fitting, the wind and rain finally subsided just before the parade kicked off!  We may have seen a glimpse of light, a rainbow, pot of gold and a wee leprechaun. We cant wait to see what this years weather will bring.  Save the date to join in.....  .  

Annual Juliette Low Fair.....

Since 1962, the West Lakeland Girl Scout Community has been running an Annual Juliette Low Fair to honor our Founder Juliette Gordon Low.   Participants will have an opportunity to earn The World Thinking and Global Action Awards along with other Badges and patches put together by our team or HigherAward Girl Scout Candidates and Leaders.  


Is your troop working on a Take Action Project, Bronze, Silver or Gold? This is the perfect time to demonstrate your Leadership Skills and share your project with out Service Unit.  If your project can help us meet any of the World Thinking or Global Action steps great but not required. If you do not have a project please try to help with the World Thinking or Global Action steps.

Riverkeeper Annual Hudson River clean up and sweeps, Trees for Tribes,  Building a forest.......  

These are a few of our favorite ways to connect with nature, family and friends to make the world a better place.  Local park clean ups, trailblazing, planting trees, and so much more.  

This year we partnered with Riverkeeper and added our beloved McAndrews Estate Park to the Annual Sweep!

Weekends together team building and exploring at Frost Valley, Herkimer Diamond Mine and KOA, Sharpe, Fahnestock (Taconic Outdoor Education Center), Green Chimney and more....

Outdoor Educational programs.......

Troops and their families learned all about the lifecycle of the Monarch Butterfly from Miss Haley.  Miss Haley is a fantastic educator at the Rockefeller Preserve.  

A Taste of Girl Scouts in August.  We will use any excuse to get together and lead a program......  we love to get together outdoors.

Ceremonies, Court of Awards.....

Court of Awards is a night of tradition and recognition. It will include a flag and candle ceremony and recognition in the form of every troop leader presenting patches, badges, pins and certificates to every Girl Scout in the troop. This is an opportunity for our girls to feel proud, inspired, honored and to recommit to a new year of Girl Scouts. It is a wonderful opportunity for families to stand behind their Girl Scouts and acknowledge their accomplishments of the past year. There will also be a bridging ceremony for troops moving up to the next level and the Girl Scouts at that level will welcome them with a smile!

Celebrate a year long accomplishment at the Cook Pool...... 

Girl Scouts and their families  have an opportunity to chill out at the Cook Pool, explore the Fitness Trail, Mini Golf, Play ping pong, Gaga and more.......  to We all love the upgrades at the pool..... we are excited to be back!
